This approach is only valid for electric engines and Poly-V® belts. This approach is not relevant for thermal engines and for any other belts (Flexonic®, Conveyxonic® and HPP® belts). For such engines and belts, the calculation shall necessarily be made by an Hutchinson skilled engineer experienced in drive belt systems.
Service factor
The duty cycle determines the criticality of the application according to its duty ratio, the type of motor and the type of machine to be driven. The service factor is applied to the power input here.
